And while the anticipated meteor shower was something of a letdown, as an added and unexpected surprise we were fortunate to witness a more modern display, courtesy of SpaceX. About two hours after sunset, the entire sky lit up with a long train of newly released satellites directly overhead, heading east. Still illuminated by the sun at roughly 200 miles above earth, it was literally like watching string lights being dragged across the heavens.
