Allen approved our request very quickly and responded immediately when we had trouble downloading the pdf file with directions due to spotty cell coverage in the park. He went above and beyond to cut and paste the document into a text for us and his directions to this very out-of-the-way place were precise, accurate, and easy to follow. \r\nNote to anyone who tries to map it here via a driving map app: We knew there’d be no address to lookup but we tried to use Waze to get to the initial landmark where the directions begin. Waze thought it was in Alpine and that was disconcerting but we followed it anyway and it was right where it should be a few minute (20ish) outside of Terlingua, nowhere near Alpine. Trust your map to the first landmark then follow Allen’s instructions.
