The area is a wildlife haven with buzzards, herons, woodpeckers and kingfishers being commonly sighted\. On occasion foxes, deer and even otters can also be seen\.All this combined with a pint at one or both of our 2 local pubs is sure to provide a holiday to remember\.Our Glamping FacilitiesWe believe that our extra facilities are what helps to make Drybeck one of the best glamping sites in the Lake District area\.The River Cook House For our Yurt Guests our beautiful larch clad cookhouse is at the heart of your stay at Drybeck\. Overlooking the river you can have breakfast on the wooden decking whilst the birds skim over the water or enjoy dinner at dusk with friends and family\.This is the perfect place to share a holiday meal or celebrate a special occasion\. This is another part of our glamping facilities that has been given Paula’s touch when it comes to giving the cookhouse it's very special feel\. There are two kitchens within the cookhouse, one for each yurt\.Each one gas rings and a wood fired oven for cooking, a fridge and all the utensils and crockery that you will need\. Each kitchen has its own dining area with table and chairs\.Each of the caravans has its own fully equipped cookhouse\. They have gas rings, a gas fridge, dining table and chairs and a full inventory of utensils\.Produce from the farm is available to buy\. Our breakfast hampers, including Drybeck's own sausages, dry cured bacon and freshly laid free range eggs our speciality\. Our own fruit, veg and pork is also available along with other local produce for you to buy\.Loos and showers For environmental reasons we decided to install compost loos\. These have been described by some of our guests as “the quaintest and cutest loos they have ever used\." We manage and maintain them very closely to ensure they are pleasant to use\.We have electric showers which provide plenty of hot water\. You will also find eco friendly shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided by ourselves\. This helps us to re\-cycle the shower water for use in our gardens\.DirectionsReaching us by Road:Enjoying peace and solitude Drybeck is easily reached by both road and rail\.
