A free attraction, The Giants of Brede is open on the first Saturday of every month 10am\-4pm and Bank Holiday Mondays\. This heritage site, which includes refreshments, sales and souvenir items, is run and maintained by volunteers from the Brede Steam Engine Society, a dedicated and knowledgeable group who welcome the opportunity of sharing their passion with all\-comers, young and old\. Take a Stroll: You can walk out of the campsite straight into beautiful rambling countryside or opt for a stunning woodland stroll in Brede High Woods\. Two car parks can be found just up the road from us on the B2089 on the way to Battle, and there are well sign\-posted short and long walks round this ancient woodland, special for its rare green hellebores and wild service trees, but also for hobby, woodcock, nightingales and buzzards, glowworms, great crested newts, lampreys, dormouse, badgers and fallow deer\. Ride the Railways: The Kent & East Sussex Railway is the country's finest example of a rural light railway\. The line gently wends its way from for ten and a half miles, through the unspoilt countryside of the Rother Valley, to terminate in the shadow of the magnificent National Trust castle at Bodiam\.
