We came up for our anniversary weekend and stayed 4 days, 3 nights. The cabin is up the North Cottonwood Creek Trailhead road, a 5-mile dirt road adventure and not the main highway that goes over Cottonwood Pass (which I mistakenly thought). That said, once still relatively close to Buena Vista (a 30-minute drive when conditions are good). It’s close enough to the trailhead yet still is/feels secluded, and we were able to let our dog run around (which isn’t usual since he’s reactive towards other dogs). The cabin’s wood stove keeps the place nice and toasty, the propane stove made cooking easy, and the king-bed had us both comfortably sleeping in way past when we normally do at home. Don’t get me wrong - it’s definitely not what I’d consider to be glamping- but more like a roughing-it cabin experience. No running water, no electricity, and the heat from the stove only lasts as long as you have fuel in it.
