The picnic bench was really useful, as was our own, very clean ecoloo. The fire pit was an extra bonus and we enjoyed a fire every night. Logs and kindling are available at a good price and we wished we hadn't brought our own as it would have saved space. Great shower, too, and a sheltered washing up place. I loved the way the grass had been allowed to grow inbetween pitches, making it more of a \"wild\" site, with loads of space in the middle of the site for children to play. Beautifully dark at night, great for seeing the stars, weather permitting, of course. Owners very friendly and available for giving advice on walks etc. We went for a lovely walk to the persali mountain from Rosebush one day, and along the coast (Dinas sands) the next, as suggested by Steve. The pitches are well spaced out with long grass (with grasshoppers!) in between each pitch. The pitches all have a compost toilet on them. These are handmade by Steve and are beautiful. The communal shower and washing up block is lovely - with a fridge, freezer, wood shop and charging place. Each shower is individual with the door directly to the outside rather than in a big unit. This means they are great for kids (and get a full air change when opened). \r\n\r\nThere is a communal play area in the middle and there are fire pits on each site. The views to the hills are great. The site is very spacious and well managed. It's great having your own picnic bench, composting loo and fire pit included. The communal facitilites had space to wash up, fridge/freezer, wood supplies and 4 showers which is plenty for the size of site (there was some temperature fluctuation if others were washing up at the same time). Steve is very attentive and after a daily chat and study of the large map we decided which beach to go to next! Skomer Island is less than an hour away and well worth a visit even out of puffin season.
