I imagine it would be very busy during the holidays but there was only 1 other camper when we were there... (3 weeks ago). There are some beautiful horses roaming around feeding and drinking along the river bonus wa"

"reviewBody": "Bingara riverside camping area extends a long way following the Gwydir river but as we found, not all tracks lead to sites suitable for larger vans. Old Keera road on the eastern side of the bridge and heading towards Copeton Dam, has a few relatively easy sites to access on good rocky tracks. There are no amenities so be self contained and leave only footprints. We found a site at Gravel Screen which had access to the river but with fast flowing water, be cautious if swimming or canoeing.\nFurther along the Copeton Dam road, more tent and camper van sites are available at Sunnyside, Honeymoon Island and Bora crossings. Sunnyside 5 is suitable for larger vans and reasonably easy to drive into and out of. \nWe walked approx 5 kms into Bingara and passed a fantastic pool complex and children’s park. There a few good pubs, supermarket and bakery in town. \nCanoe trips and Horse riding groups passed us during our stay."
