Paddlers seeking backcountry solitude can access this boat\-in chickee platform via a 13\-kilometer route from Hell's Bay trailhead\. Lane Bay Chickee sits directly on the wilderness waterway as a single platform, ensuring groups camp alone rather than sharing with other parties\. The National Park Service maintains a porta\-potty on site, and the platform includes posts on the west side for securing watercraft overnight\. The paddle route proves manageable for most skill levels since it doesn't depend heavily on tidal timing, though campers should prepare for mosquitoes that intensify at sunset\. The platform lacks the food prep bench found at other chickees but accommodates a two\-person tent, hammock, and cooking space\. Anglers can expect smaller catches including snook, red drum, and jack\. Cell service remains unavailable\. Campers exploring broader options can find \[campsites near Everglades National Park\]\(https://thedyrt\.com/camping/florida/near/everglades\-national\-park\) for multi\-night itineraries\.
