I camped in the summer, during the drought, so the water in the river below the cliff was low. It was hot but the trees and warm breeze kept me comfortable all night. There was a lot of cool decorations as it is a bird sanctuary. It is a few yards away from a really beautiful outlook onto Medina river. There is lots of seating and trees for shade in the camp area. We were able to grill, hang out by the fire and star gaze at night by the cliff overlooking the river which was really nice! We went out there to see the solar eclipse and had a good view of it right from the camp site. Cynthia was also home the whole time and is very nice and very accommodating; we forgot some supplies and she was more than happy to lend us some! :)\n\nThe only few cons is that there is no direct access to the river from her property because it is on the cliff side of the river. It is a few minutes drive down to the river though. From our site, areas to pitch a tent were also somewhat limited as the camp site is right next to her house and there’s a lot of concrete and rock paths / patio by it. If you’re looking to make noise at night then I wouldn’t recommend this because the host will be at home and could disturb her and the wild life she takes care of.
