Being on a large hill in a mountainous valley means you’re surrounded by an incredible shifting spectrum of color as day becomes night. \r\n\r\nThere are a few notable details that may be helpful for others. The first is that the drive up to the house is at times rocky and quite steep. We handled it fine in our AWD vehicle but our friends who drove a vehicle with much shorter clearance struggled with it on the way up. The second detail is much less significant but still should be noted for those looking for total privacy. The designated camping area is fairly close to the house. This wasn’t an issue at all for us since the view of the house is so small relative to the landscape around it and it quickly disappeared from our mind during our stay, but for anyone wanting seclusion this may be a point of concern. Additionally, it can also be quite windy at the top of the hill so best to be prepared with a tent that performs well in windy circumstances. \r\n\r\nAbi, was one of the kindest and most thoughtful hosts we’ve ever encountered. We can easily recommend her and her place to anyone wanting to be close to Yellowstone and surrounded by continuous beauty.
