This was our first time using HipCamp and I had been eyeing this listing for months. Well, you can't get much closer to nature than Ilana's sanctuary! The animals are all so sweet and beautiful. You fall in love with every single one, it's too hard not to. And Ilana as your host is everything and more: she's gracious, kind, compassionate about her mission for these animals, and HILARIOUS! We spent many hours chatting with her out in the animal yard, cool breeze ruffling up the chickens' feathers and the thick coat of Thor the Pyranese. Speaking of which, the other reviews are spot on. Give that good boy an inch, he'll take a whole mile and then some! Absolute best guardian dog you could ask for. And his sidekick, the new puppy Rocky, is a real character. Love them both to death!\n\nEvery dollar of your stay goes right back into the care of welfare of these animals. Do not hesitate to come visit the sanctuary and leave with a piece of your heart yearning to return.
